ASU Dim Sum

October 6, 2015

The Asian Student Union(ASU) last Saturday just went to dim sum at Hei La Moon. For those of you that don’t know what dim sum is, dim sum is a Cantonese style of preparing food in small portions. All the food is served in steamer baskets like this

Multiple dishes all served in steamer baskets are pushed around in carts. As the cart goes around the waitresses kindly ask you if you want anything from the cart. Once you select something a small stamp is placed on your tables card that will later go into your bill calculation. Dim sum is usually a meal between breakfast and lunch, it is meant to be eaten slowly and over the course of a conversation. This was a great event for freshmen and those who didn’t have a chance to participate in ASU previously to get to know former members and the eboarders better. It was also a good chance to take a look into the inner community and workings of such a great club. If you’ve missed ASU’s dim sum outing fear not! ASU has a kayaking event this Sunday at 1PM be sure to be there! link
